I can't advocate it, unless I do it myself – embrace change

MY STORY

It all happened together. I got back from California, where I completed NLP Master Practitioner Training. It was an eye-opening experience. Coming from a country of 2 million people and meeting people from all over the world, sharing experiences, admiring their open-mindedness and ease in starting a completely new career was truly inspirational. I had been thinking myself of starting a career as a business coach and trainer, but didn’t have the guts to leave my safe and reasonably well-paid job of a civil servant.

However, that was the turning point in my life, because I finally quit the job and started working as a coach and trainer. I also ended a very long relationship, which got completely stuck and married Matteo I met in California. Collateral damage J

I moved to Florence, Italy, where we opened a bed and breakfast and then another one. I continued travelling between Ljubljana and Florence, to be able to stay on my career course of a coach and trainer.

At the beginning, life in Florence was really difficult. I didn’t know anybody, didn’t know the language, everything was new. Plus I only had one client back in Ljubljana and didn’t know if they’d stick with me, because I moved. But I was so determined to pursue my coaching career that I even didn’t think I wouldn’t make it.  It was my dream.

To cut a long story short, in six years while living in Florence I landed three more clients, big players on the Slovenian market. That was a clear sign I was on the right way. I couldn’t, though, expand my business since my time in Ljubljana became even more limitied, because my daughter was born in the meantime. So, we moved back to Ljubljna, where I still live and work today.

It’s true, we got divorced, but have become great friends and even co-workers with my ex husband. Through our friendship and mutual respect we make our daughter see that she is always safe with us.

I’m happy to say that I am now a full-time coach and a trainer. Since I’ve also completed studies of psychoanalysis I also work as a therapist.

I’ve also been in a fulfilling relationship for quite some time. I keep on travelling, reading, learning new skills. Enjoying life, to put it simple.
